Let the Holy Spirit Regenerate the Life of Each of Us

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. In that sense, He is a person who has personality, i.e., will, intellect, emotion, ability to communicate, and other characteristics that describe a person.

For example, in John 16:13-15 the Spirit is called the teacher sent by our Lord, who would lead us into all truth. It is further said that He would "reprove" the world. In Romans 8:27 He "intercedes" for the saints; in Ephesians 4:30 He may be "grieved"; in Acts 21 He commands and prophesies; and in Acts 5:3,4 Peter calls Him God. Certainly His claim to personality and equality is as real as that of the Father and the Son.

The list of the works of the Spirit are far too long to include all here but among His works are the following: He created the world, the world being created out of the Father through the Son and by the Holy Ghost. He inspired the writing of the Scriptures, the Spirit of God caused Christ to be conceived in the womb of Mary, it was the Holy Spirit who baptized Jesus, who led Him and empowered Him. He is also described as having raised Jesus from the dead, He being poured out upon people, is the one who brought the Christian Church into existence on Pentecost.

The Spirit of God regenerates men and quickens them from their deadness in sin. Jesus said that we must be born again of the Spirit. Unless we have been regenerated by the Spirit we are not Christians. And the Holy Ghost indwells every Christian:

1 Cor. 3:16:  "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"

We therefore, should strive to seek for Holy Spirit baptism, for we are leaky vessels. We need to have the fullness of His presence.
